Poster Presentations

Please can you adhere to poster dimensions of A0 paper in portrait orientation. The poster boards are 1.2m wide and 2.3m high. Velcro dots to hang your poster will be provided.

Poster can be placed on the poster boards in the Exhibition Area from Tuesday morning through until the end of AWCBR on Wednesday.

All posters need to be in place by the Tuesday lunch break (12:30-1:30 pm) and should remain up until 5:30 pm on Tuesday.

Presenters with odd numbered abstracts should attend to their poster between 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm.

Presenters with even numbered abstracts should attend to their poster between 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm.

Velcro dots to hang your poster will be provided.

Poster board will be labelled P1, P2, P3 etc. Please refer to your poster board number in the programme.

All student poster presentations will automatically be considered for the Student Best Poster Presentation Award.

All ECRs < 6 years post PhD (awarded in 2020 onwards, adjusted for career breaks) will automatically be entered for consideration for the ECR Best Poster Presentation Award.

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations will be held in a format limited to 10 minutes per presentation followed by 5 minutes for questions.

Powerpoint presentations (16:9 format) are to be uploaded via USB sticks onto the provided Windows computer in the break prior to your oral session. Please note audio capabilities may be limited.

If any presenter wishes to use their own laptop to present (we would prefer this was not the case) you as the presenter will be responsible for providing your own HDMI adapters (if your laptop doesn’t have a full size HDMI connection).

All student oral presenters will automatically be entered for consideration for the Goddard Prize.

All ECR < 6 years post PhD (awarded in 2020 onwards, adjusted for career breaks) oral presentations will automatically be considered for the ECR oral presentation prize.

Flash Talks

All abstracts accepted for a poster presentation will be required to give a flash talk to 'advertise' your poster prior to the poster session. This is your chance to showcase your research with a single PowerPoint slide (no animations) and a 60-second pitch to the conference audience. You will be stopped at exactly 60 seconds and we will move onto the next speaker. There will be no questions—just a concise, impactful presentation to highlight your poster.

Your slide must include your poster number and presentation time so that attendees can come and find you during the poster session.

Your single Powerpoint slide (16:9 format) needs to be emailed to admin@awcbr.org by Saturday 29th August so we can compile them into one Powerpoint presentation.
